District 40

Andrew Stoddard is the representative for District 40 in the Utah House of Representatives, which encompasses parts of Murray, Midvale, and Sandy. He has held this position since 2019 and is an active member of several important committees, including the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, Government Operations (both standing and interim committees), and the Infrastructure and General Government appropriations committee.

Representative Stoddard is deeply committed to issues surrounding criminal justice and the protection of victims' rights. He has been involved in crafting legislation aimed at safeguarding domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. Additionally, he has been instrumental in advancing various bills related to improving air quality, notably passing a bill in 2023 that regulates the chemicals responsible for a significant portion of our winter inversions. Representative Stoddard has a strong track record of collaborating on bipartisan initiatives aimed at addressing gun violence while respecting Second Amendment rights and enhancing public safety.

Beyond his legislative responsibilities, Representative Stoddard serves as a plaintiff's attorney. In his personal life, he enjoys spending quality time exploring new adventures with his wife and four sons, traveling, and passionately cheering for both the Utah Utes and the Buffalo Bills.
