Jake Fitisemanu
District 30
Jake Fitisemanu Jr. serves as the representative for his district, having been elected twice as a City Council member in West Valley City. Born in New Zealand/Aotearoa and raised in Hawaiʻi and Utah, Jake is the oldest of eight children, raised by Karen Dang of Hawai'i and Jacob Fitisemanu of Samoa. He currently resides with his wife, Lucia, and their two daughters in West Valley City.

Throughout his career, Representative Fitisemanu has been dedicated to public health and community wellness. He holds degrees in Social Sciences and Public Health from Westminster University and has led public health initiatives and managed health clinics for over thirteen years. Additionally, Jake was appointed as a presidential advisor by President Obama and served on the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders until 2017. He also served two appointed terms on the U.S. Census Bureau's National Advisory Committee and currently advises the National Academy of Medicine.

In his work, Representative Fitisemanu has remained committed to improving the quality of life through grassroots initiatives that support youth development, cultural enrichment, and civic engagement. His leadership extends beyond the professional sphere, as he serves his family under the Samoan chiefly title "Laufou," bestowed upon him by the village of Toamua-Puipa'a. As a freshman legislator, Jake is eager to contribute to the Social Services Appropriations, Health & Human Services, and Political Subdivisions committees.
